Your weekly art challenge is to design, and if you can make, your own Roman coin, with you as the emperor / empress in the middle! Have a look at the examples and see what you can come up with. The name of the emperor is usually the writing around the coin.

This week, our ‘Art Challenge’, should you choose to accept it, is to use playdough, clay, salt dough or anything else that you can mold easily, to create a Roman head shot sculpture of yourself! To do this you will need a mirror so that you can look very carefully at your facial features!

This week, our ‘Art Challenge’, should you choose to accept it, is to design and make a Roman mosaic of your own choice. You can do this in any way you want (paint, colouring, collage etc.) but it must be in a mosaic style!

We would like you to do some research into the Romans and who they were. From this, explore their use of Roman shields. Ask yourself:

- What did they look like?

- What features did they have?
