Day 1

 

  • Learn your spellings for the week- watch the Power-Point and write your spellings in your exercise book.
  • Complete the Joe Wicks PE lesson on YouTube or if you would like something a little bit less strenuous try some Yoga Disco for kids at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aje33UPixE
  • Complete Day 1 of the maths warm up PDF. Write the answers in your book.
  • In today's maths lesson you'll be refreshing your memories of the tens times table. If you're finding it a bit tricky, here's a video that will help https://vimeo.com/420582220 
  • For reading, watch the video of the story "Giraffes can't dance" go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZjsLK5vwNU
  • For English, open the PDF and read about giraffes. Complete the cloze procedure by filling in the missing words.
  • We are carrying on with our 30 days wild challenge. Have you guessed what animal we are learning about today? That's right, giraffes! Go to https://www.chesterzoo.org/virtual-zoo-2/ to watch a virtual tour of the giraffe enclosure. Then have a go at some giraffe crafts. Open the PDF and if you have some kitchen rolls you can make your own giraffe family!

  • Practice your spellings in your exercise book.

  • Complete Day 2 of the maths warm up PDF. Write the answers in your book.
  • In today's maths lesson we'll be reminding ourselves how to create equal groups. If you're a bit unsure watch this video, it should help you to remember ... https://vimeo.com/420582354
  • For reading, listen to the story of Elmer the elephant at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZlNp-8zOgk. Then open the PDF and choose the reading comprehension that is suitable for your reading ability. Complete the questions in your exercise book or print them out.
  • For English, open the PDF. Elmer is unique. Think about what makes you unique. Write your sentences on the special Elmer paper or write them in your book.

  • Why not have a go at making some Elmer biscuits or make an Elmer elephant from an empty milk bottle?

  • It's Wellbeing Wednesday! Open the PDF. Sometimes when you are asked to do something you have not done before, you might feel nervous or scared.Being brave and saying yes to new things, you'll often find it not as bad as you think!
  • For reading, open the PDF and complete the reading comprehension about wolves!
  • Your wildlife challenge today is all about wolves! Watch the National Geographic video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYKsI5ILiaQ Then have a go at making a wolf mask! Open the PDF for some ideas.

  • Complete the four calculations test. Let me know your results via Twitter!
  • For reading, open the powerpoint and read the story 'The deer and the crow'.
  • For English, open the PDF and think about the two main characters in the story. Can you write sentences to describe them?
  • Today we're going to be learning about deer. Deer can often be seen in the fields around Old Goole. Have you ever seen any? Watch this funny video to learn more about lots of species of British wildlife including deer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyYLn2GSAJc
  • Then, why not pop out for a walk and collect some leaves to make one of these lovely leaf deer pictures.
