Science- Scientists and Inventors

Brilliant Biomes

Today we found out about the biomes at the Eden Project in Cornwall. We then planted bean seeds to find out if they would grow faster in a greenhouse or outside.

Brilliant Botanists

Today we found out about Jane Colden, an American botanist, who lived in the 1700's. She made careful observations of the plants in her garden and local area. Her work is displayed in the Natural History Museum in London. We then made our own careful observations of plants grown in Miss Marston's garden!

Discovering Germs

Today we found out why it is important to wash our hands. We found out about the life and work of Louie Pasteur. He discovered that germs are living things and can spread from person to person through touch or through the air. We did an experiment to prove that germs can be spread through touch.
