This week's challenge!

This week's challenge is to design an Easter egg! You can be as creative as you like! Please send me a picture of your designed egg on twitter @MissRustonMPS. If you cannot access twitter, design the egg in your books to bring back to school. I will pick a couple of winners when we come back to school!

Day 1:

  • Sing along to 'Count to 100: version 3' by Jack Hartmann on YouTube. (PARENT: Please supervise your child when they are on youtube watching this video)
  • Come up with as many different ways you can get the answer 5. Write these down in your exercise book.
  • Find different shapes in your house - look around and draw and label the shapes you see! Make sure you write down the correct name for the shape.
  • Can you remember anything about Pandas? Using the website: https://www.natgeokids.com/uk/discover/animals/general-animals/ten-panda-facts/ write down 3 of your favourite facts.
  • Read a book  - library or home book

Day 2:

  • Count in 2s - try and come up with some actions you can do whilst counting to remember the numbers better!
  • In your books, write down as many different equations you can where the answer is 6.
  • In your exercise books, using the doubles sheet linked underneath, write down your equations and answers.
  • Look at the picture of the Panda underneath. Write down 3 sentences about the appearance of the Panda in your books. Try and use adjectives!
  • Read a book  - library or home book

Day 3:

  • Count in 5s. Come up with actions for this like your counting in 2s. This is something we can share when we come back from school!
  • Using the raindrop sheet that is linked below, write down all the numbers in your exercise book and fill in the missing ones! See if you get these right. You do not need to do all of them in one day. Pick sheet 1 or 2 to do today, do the other tomorrow.
  • Watch Andy's Aquatic Adventures on BBC iPlayer - Andy and the Chinstrap Penguins (link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000ftm9/andys-aquatic-adventures-series-1-13-andy-and-the-chinstrap-penguins) - PARENTS PLEASE SUPERVISE CHILD WHEN WATCHING VIDEO. Once you have watched the video, write down a 'review' of Chinstrap penguins. What do you like about them? What do you dislike? What was interesting about them? Can you remember any interesting facts?
  • Read a book  - library or home book

Day 4:

  • In your books, write down as many equations as you can where the answer is 7.
  • Using the other raindrop sheet, complete the missing numbers as done yesterday.
  • Think about Paddington. What do we know about Paddington? In your exercise books can you draw your own Paddington. What does he wear? Label what you have drawn too.
  • Then, can you write down some interesting sentences about Paddington. What does he eat? What does he do? What does he look like? Think about our information text and how you could use that to write about Paddington.
  • Read a book  - library or home book

Day 5:

  • Using books, write down as many ways as you can make the answer 8.
  • Using the sheet provided underneath, read the problem stories and answer in books. Please give support to your child when reading the problem.
  • Pick your favourite book character. Can you write a short story about your book character that has a beginning, middle and end. It can be as imaginative as you like.
  • Read a book  - library or home book
