  • For English open the PDF above and read the story- Pandora's Box. Then complete the first two activities- draw what you think the box looked like and then draw what you think might be in the box.
  • Whilst you're outside today, sit down - somewhere safe, and close your eyes. What can you hear? Can you hear birds singing? Voices talking? Vehicles going past? Perhaps you can hear a washing machine or nextdoors TV, a dog barking, someone laughing. How many different noises can you hear? If you can hear birds can you hear different birds singing. In your exercise book write a list of the different noises you can hear, then add them up!

Day 2:

  • Practice your spellings in your exercise book.
  • Complete Day 2 of the maths warm up PDF. Write the answers in your book.
  • Complete today's PE lesson with Joe Wicks online at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rY . You must be getting really fit now! If you fancy something a bit less strenuous this morning choose one of Cosmic Kids yoga sessions instead  https://www.youtube.com/user/CosmicKidsYoga . Or if you're feeling really active; why not do both!
  • For English, re-read the story of Pandora's Box up the part you got up to yesterday. Today, complete activity three- draw a picture of the evil that came out of the box. Share the story with someone else. Did you like this story? Why?
  • Walk around your house or garden and see how many items you can find with four corners. Write them neatly as a list in your exercise book. What shapes are they? Squares? Rectangles? Something else? How many items did you find?

I look forward to you telling me which yoga session is your favourite!
  • For English, open the PDF above and read the paragraph about Zeus. Draw a picture of Zeus and use the description of him to label your picture. Then answer the comprehension questions about the story.
  • Today is the 22nd April. Every year on 22nd April we celebrate Earth Day. We thank the planet for all it provides us and think about what more we can do to help it. Earth Day started 50 years ago so let's get active to celebrate ... do 50 of your favourite exercises! Perhaps you could do 10 tuck jumps, 10 sit-ups, 10 push-ups, 10 high knees and 10 star jumps. Or perhaps you've got a different favourite exercise you'd like to do. 50 is quite a big number so it's okay if you need a rest in between. :)
  • Here are a couple of videos that you might like to watch about World Earth Day. Remember to watch YouTube with a responsible adult.
  • If you have time, why not make a poster about World Earth Day and pop it in your window. It will give people something to read when they walk past your house!

Day 4:

  • Practice your spellings in your exercise book.
  • Complete Day 4 of the maths warm up PDF. Write the answers in your book.
  • Complete today's PE lesson with Joe Wicks online at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rY . If you fancy something a bit less strenuous this morning why not have a go at a Cosmic Kids yoga session instead? I really like this Wild Animal one...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFbWNmzPByQ
  • For English, scroll down to page 10 in the PDF above. Complete the activity to put the words that Zeus has found in alphabetical order. Then complete the activity to match the word in the story to its meaning.
  • Hasn't the weather been lovely? I can't remember the last time it rained! One of my favourite things to do in the morning is to have a cup of coffee and look at the sky. It's the same sky, but it always looks different. There's so many different shades of blue ... and grey! Sometimes it's cloudy, sometimes it's sunny. We always used to look at the sky through the Beech Classroom window ... do you remember? Maybe you could grab your favourite drink and have a look at the sky today...
  • With all this nice weather some of the plants maybe struggling. They need water to survive; just like we do! They get their water from the rain and if it hasn't rained, they might be thirsty. Why not water a plant today? How much water will you give it? How much water do you think it needs? In your exercise book draw a picture of yourself next to your plant. Make sure you get the scale right. If it's as small as a daisy it won't be taller than you ... it won't even be up to your knee! But if it's a tree, it might be much taller than you.

Day 5:

  • Practice your spellings in your exercise book.
  • Complete Day 5 of the maths warm up PDF. Write the answers in your book.
  • Complete today's PE lesson with Joe Wicks online at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rY . If you fancy something a bit less strenuous this morning choose one of Cosmic Kids yoga sessions instead  https://www.youtube.com/user/CosmicKidsYoga .
  • Complete the four calculations test. Let me know your results via Twitter!
  • For English, open the PDF from yesterday and put the words from yesterday's activity into sentences. Then complete the activity on apostrophes. Don't worry that you haven't finished the booklet, we will carry on with it next week!
