Up, Up and Away!

WOW day!

Today we started our new topic- Up, up and away! We will be looking at the history of air transport and thinking about how it has changed our lives. We will also look at aerial photographs, maps, compasses and routes. during our wow day we made cloud binoculars, made paper plate balloons and painted pictures of things that we see in the sky.

Atlas Skills

Today we used the atlases to practise our atlas skills. We went on a scavenger hunt to locate different countries in the world.

Making Compasses

Today we found out about how compasses work. We examined compasses and found out which way was north, east, south and west in our classroom. Then we used magnets, a nail and a bowl of water to make our own compasses. We were very excited when the nail turned to face north!
