  • English: Punctuating the silence- John Agard https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/english-ks2-john-agard-talking-poetry/zfjf2sg John Agard introduces his poem called punctuating the silence. As you all know, myself and Mrs Laverack LOVE it when you used your punctuation correctly. However, we aren’t at home to remind you to use it! So, let’s write a poem to remind ourselves of our punctuation pals. Choose 5 different features of punctuation, this could be:
  • Full stop
  • Comma
  • Brackets
  • Capital letters
  • Exclamation mark
  • Question mark
  • Apostrophes and much more!

You need to remember what they do - “A full stop, halts you in your tracks!” Your turn to write your punctuation poem.

  • English: If you could see laughter- Mandy Coe https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/english-ks2-mandy-coe-talking-poetry/z6ws7nb What do you think laughter would look like if you could see it? Listen to your families laughs. Listen to your own laugh. How do you feel when you laugh? Can you describe it? Does it make you happy? What else makes you happy? Listen to the poem. What connections can you make between laughter and things you could see? I think if I could see laughter, it would look like bubbles. Lots of bubbles full of giggles and chuckles. Your turn, can you write a short poem about what laughter looks like to you?
